Snow moisture meter “Doser” for quick determination of snow moisture. How it works: The measuring device is placed flat on the snow with the sensor surface so that a high-frequency electrical measuring field can penetrate the snow. The moisture of the snow can be read in percent (%). Snow moisture:
- Dry 17% and less
- Medium to moist 16% – 28
- Wet 27% – 100%
The measurement result is influenced not only by the snow moisture but also by the snow density. Therefore, some experience is necessary to analyze measurements accurately.
